Least Restrictive Environment
On February 19, 2014, the U.S. District Court issued a statement regarding the case of Disability Rights New Jersey, et al. vs. New Jersey Department of Education, et al. To avoid intensive litigation, the parties agreed to a negotiated settlement as outlined in the February 19 memo. In part, the agreement requires designated districts to complete a Least Restrictive Environment Needs Assessment. In order to assist these districts in completing their Assessment and creating action plans, Centris Group has utilized its subject matter experts and former practitioners to develop the following resource library organized to reflect the questions in the Assessment. This service to our customers is a list of resources that includes vetted websites, documents and video clips. It is expected that this library is a "continuous work in progress" that can be expanded to collaboratively share additional materials from Centris and our users.
