What role does File Sharing play in the BOCES Direct Implementation Process?
When students are shared between a district and BOCES for the first time, BOCES Direct automatically sets the billing and education districts to the district that has shared the student with BOCES. At that time, the student’s status is set to Active in preparation for adding in billing information.
Students that are not shared can either be imported as part of the initial installation, or added into the system manually for the first time from the “New Student” tab in IEP Direct. Once basic student information is manually added to IEP Direct, that student will appear in BOCES Direct. However, since this student was added in manually, it is up to BOCES to set the proper Billing and Education district that the student belongs to. Students that are added to the system manually will be set as Active Students in preparation for adding in billing information.
