How are ESY Program FTE's and Costs Calculated?
Partial Enrollment
If a student's start and end dates indicate that he/she has not been enrolled in an ESY program for the entire 6 week term, the student will be subject to a partial FTE and therefore partial billing. At the time of billing, the system will perform a week-by-week scan to see which weeks the student should be billed for.
Students that are enrolled for the majority of a week (3 days) will be billed for that week. For each billable week in the extended school year, students are given a .167 FTE. If BOCES Direct determines that the student should be billed for 3 3eeks for the summer program, that student will have a .50 FTE.
Program placement for partial extended school year enrollment is billed based on the following formula: Amount = .167 X (#of billable weeks) X (Tuition Amount) X (Full-time/Half-time).
