What is the significance of activating a student?

• Student activation helps BOCES Direct to recognize whether a student is currently active or inactive in BOCES for the purposes of billing, enrollment reports and other listings that are provided with the system.  Many listings will specifically exclude students that are not active, while others will help identify students that are active but have not been properly enrolled in a program.  The system also requires that a student be activated before it allows a program or service to be added for a student.
