What role does File Sharing play in the BOCES Direct Implementation Process?
This is the most likely of scenarios, and will require some students to be shared and others to be imported into the BOCES database. To accomplish this, district personnel should:
Work with the Centris Group data specialists to forward your legacy database of students.
Follow the steps in Scenario 1 for the applicable IEP Direct districts. If there are only a few districts that are currently using IEP Direct, a teleconference may be sufficient to complete the sharing process.
After the applicable students have been shared, please contact the Centris Group corporate office. At that time, a listing of all shared students should be generated by the home office and exported using the Listings engine.
While the import file of all current year students is being prepared by the Centris Group, the exported file of shared students should also be forwarded to data specialists. The list of exported (shared) students will be compared against the file that was forwarded to the data specialist, and duplicates will be removed. All remaining students (non-shared) will be imported into the BOCES database completing the list of all BOCES students.
