The next steps in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process are to identify struggling learners and assign them to intervention tiers based upon the assessment data.  This includes: conducting statistical analysis to determine the appropriate cut-scores for each type of assessment; comparing individual student scores against the cut-score to identify those requiring intervention; and assigning the students to an intervention tier.  This critical phase in the process has long presented a challenge due to the difficulty in managing data, the complexity of the statistical analysis -- and the time-consuming process of identifying and assigning individual students.

Identifying students who may need interventions services is an automated process with RTIm Direct.  Based upon the cut-scores your district has selected, RTIm Direct automatically identifies students who may need an intervention.  With a few clicks of the mouse, RTIm Direct instantly compares each individual student’s assessment scores against the cut-scores, and flags those students who may need an intervention for review.  This enables teachers and Response to Intervention (RTI) teams to save time and focus on reviewing the needs of students instead of performing time-consuming statistical analysis.

Assigning students to specific Response to Intervention (RTI) tiers is simplified and guided with RTIm Direct.  For those students identified as needing intervention services, the system automatically suggests a specific intervention tier based on the cut-score and their individual assessment score.  Teachers or Response to Intervention (RTI) teams then have the flexibility to use their observations and additional data to move students into the Response to Intervention (RTI) tier that they feel is most appropriate to each student’s circumstance.
