Maintaining effective parent communication and fostering the home-school connection throughout the process are critical to the overall success of Response to Intervention (RTI).  Best-practices for parent communication regarding Response to Intervention (RTI) include individual communication with parents at each major phase of the process and Response to Intervention (RTI) progress reports on a regular basis. 

Of course, the practical reality is that increased communications can become another paperwork burden and take precious time away from teaching.  As a result, parent communication regarding Response to Intervention (RTI) poses another challenge for school districts.
